Web enabled clock

Web enabled clock

OK digital clocks are no big deal, you can pick them up for cheap on Amazon, and that's what I did. So why would I do that? I wanted to build a clock that would read the time from the web so that I would never have to set it.

The combination of a cheap clock, ARMstamp and an ESP8266 will get me there. This is a work in progress, I did some sanity checks to see if I could really read the time from the web and yes that is pretty easy with the ESP8266.

Here is an ARMstamp driving the clock digits, turned out they were single LEDs on a single layer board with light pipes for 2 inch digits.

8 segment lines, 4 digits, power, GND and PWM of flying wires and hot glue. Flying wires
